TIBDN communicates its study results through a number of different forums. An annual newsletter is circulated to family physicians, pharmacists, and other stakeholders in the province in an attempt to bring current topics and infection prevention and management issues to the primary care providers. Education days for the network are held annually or bi-annually.

TIBDN data and presentation slides are shared on a website, primarily targeted for professionals, but with some information for the general population. Data from TIBDN is also presented at local, national and international meetings and in peer reviewed journals.

Analysis of Surveillance Data

• Changes in rates of antibiotic resistance in invasive isolates of S.pneumoniae
• Assessment of the relative risk of antibiotic resistance associated with the use of different classes of antibiotics; and with particular antibiotics within classes
• Assessment of clinical failures of oral antibiotics resulting in invasive disease
