About PandemicWatch.ca
Introduction

PandemicWatch.ca has been designed to provide accurate and up-to-date information related to pandemic planning in general and to provide information on the current pandemic threat in particular. Although this site is for educational purposes only, we hope to provide a comprehensive tool on the potential pandemic that might arise from this influenza A strain (H1N1) and also information on related health issues to everyone from family physicians and other frontline healthcare staff, community organizations, law enforcements, schools and universities and the general public. Providing a strong communication link with family physicians and frontline healthcare staff is essential, since they are traditionally the first resource for the general public when health problems emerge in the community.

On this site we have compiled a global information database on pandemic planning designed to meet all potential outbreaks, regardless of the origin. The pandemic plans for different geographic locations and levels of government can be compared. Additionally, we have an RSS news feed providing the latest news on the current outbreak from the most reliable sources worldwide. We also have an extensive section on pandemic related education and information links organized by topics (general, planning etc.), organizations (WHO, Health Canada etc.) and by location (Canada, US, UK, etc.). We will be monitoring international and Canadian organizations to provide you with a single link to information on the current situation.

This is a dynamic site which will continue to evolve as more information becomes available. If you see a need for a specific topic on the website please contact us. We hope you find this site a useful resource.
